Most of today's digital images have enough detail to allow this kind of portrait extraction. You just have to spot the right photo ! This is a style to be noted, one that can be used for a wide range of portraits. Style Ref SL 02. Portrait Art ?   Perhaps. Some subtle techniques were used here, for a result that is less of a "photo" but yet still a portrait. The flowerpot, and more, have been brightened for a more lively effect. Style Ref SL 03. An outdoor photo portrait. She looks like she's ready for a hike on the mountain. So we gave her a mountain and a blue sky beyond. Style Ref SL 04. The dark background of the original was no help, but we managed to brighten this digital portrait and lend it a faint sepia effect. In the final image, the couple stands out, with highlighting of hair and facial areas. Style Ref SL 05. This event was a christening. But we wanted an intimate portrait, and the background wasn't right for that. So we chose a cloudy sky instead. The white towel was re-colored, and her hair acquired some highlights. Style Ref SL 06. We chose a dark theme for this personal portrait. With fewer backround details, the subject gets more attention. Style Ref SL 07. The setting is Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast. The methods used here mark a step away from the literal photo content, seeking a brighter, more colourful, and perhaps more artistic effect. Style Ref SL 08. Getting out of the kitchen !
